Toyota does it again: “Planning to recall thousands of Lexus cars across the world”

Toyota Motor Corporation is planning to recall 11,500 Lexus vehicles across the globe for problems related to steering. Mieko Iwasaki, a spokeswoman for the carmaker informed that Toyota plans to recall 7,000 vehicles overseas, including 3,800 in the U.S., and 4,500 units in Japan.

Over the years Toyota was strongly criticized for slow responses to safety problems.  However this time round Toyota Motor Corporation is working to react more quickly. Anthony Tribunella, Expert and Director of Operations at Auto Relief Group says, “It’s unfortunate that Toyota is once again in the news for wrong reasons, given the fact that it still faces hundreds of state and federal lawsuits in the U.S.”

The good thing though, is that the company wishes to demonstrate that it can respond rapidly to problems in its cars. Though this decision will affect the business, (Lexus being one of its best-selling models) it will certainly create a favorable impact in the automobiles market and help to maintain its reputation.

According to the new study released by Consumer Reports, Toyota is currently in the third position as the best carmaker. It seems Toyota is losing its position in the market.

The Lexus cars were facing steering problems and the decision to recall these cars may have raised many eyebrows. The recalls time and again are negatively impacting the image of the auto manufacturing giant. Toyota cannot afford to repeat its mistake; instead focus should be on improving manufacturing standards. Its time Toyota should try considering some active changes in its manufacturing strategy and show to the world that it’s a true champion.

A Stroke of Safety: the Mercedes-benz Wiper Blade

Let’s be hypothetical. If the sun blazes it warm beams and blankets the earth all day everyday then driving would be such a pleasure. If clouds would just stay clearly afloat the heavenly skies then convertibles will fill the streets and highways. If rain would just evaporate before they reach the ground then all of us will be basking in the blessings of sunshine. Sadly, this is not the everyday scenario. Bad weather makes driving stressful and ultimately hazardous. Its in these times where the automobile’s safety features are put to the ultimate test. A particular accessory proves to be essentially important at driving in extreme conditions. Heavy rain may cause road blindness to the driver that may lead to accidents. Rainwater pours heavily on the windshield clogging driver’s view of the slippery road. This element could not be suppressed by any other car part or accessory aside from the windshield wiper. Faithfully keeping the windshield clean, this device allows a clear view as it moves back and forth countless times to sweep the water away. Although it would seem that the windshield wiper is a standard feature in automobiles, its mechanism involves an intricate assembly of components that work in alliance to provide the most efficient performance. It takes a combination of two mechanical technologies for the wipers to perform their main task. The connection of the electric motor and worm gear reduction provides the necessary power to the wipers. It does take a significant amount of force to accelerate the wipers to quickly move. Inside the motor assembly is an electronic circuit that maintains power to the wipers. The worm gear reduction multiplies the motor torque by about 50 times as it operates a linkage that moves the wipers. Part of the wiping system that handles the toughest job, are the wiper blades. Wiper blades works just like squeegee that is operated by mechanical hands. The arms of the wiper drag a thin rubber strip across the windshield to clear the water away from the view. Two blades move in unison as one of them pivots from a point from a point close to the driver’s side of the car while the other blade pivots from near the middle of the windshield. Variations of the wiper blade design include the tandem system, opposed system and the single arm system. In automobile manufacture, it is very important to incorporate efficient wiper blades in the wiper system of the automobile. As consumers meticulously look into the wiper system and its specifications before purchasing a vehicle, the car companies of today offer the best selection. Mercedes-Benz is a prime example of the said companies. The German company pioneered the innovative system of a single wiper that extends outwards to get closer to the top corners and pulls in at the end and at the middle. This provides maximum surface coverage. Also, the Mercedes-Benz wiper blade is engineered to fully function under the worst of weather conditions. Even withstanding snow, rain, debris and heat, the Mercedes windshield wipers is tested to be tough and durable. It certainly is comforting to know that every time your out in the pouring rain driving you have a dependable Mercedes-Benz wiper blade to help you find your way.
